Howdy fellow readers!

Now a month away from finals, it’s crunch time for many of us whether it be graduating and entering the real world, or looking forward to a summer of many opportunities which include: taking more courses to get ahead or stay on your degree plan, studying abroad, interning at a company, working, or just a time to finally relax from yet another hectic semester.

But before summer arrives, I would like to share with you my experience during spring break. (more…)

Howdy fellow readers,

I am in awe that another month has just passed. To sum up all I have done within these last 30 days, I would be writing a novel of the many things that I do each day. Time has become a precious commodity as I go into each semester, taking on more responsibilities with my role as a leader, keeping up with my studies, and all this to find my passion. I am still figuring out what my strengths and talents are and what I am made to do to contribute to the society. (more…)

Welcome fellow guests!

This marks the 3rd week of the new semester and I am already feeling the strain of the workload. I just got hired to be a supplemental instruction leader for political science 206 or US National Government. My job description entails going to lectures for that course, doing the readings/homework assignments, holding 3 hours review sessions, and 5 hours of training and prepping for lessons so I can teach and facilitate learning effectively as a peer. Howdy! (and Happy Holidays!)

I can’t believe that this semester finally ended! It went by in a flash! I am still amazed at all the things I’ve done for the past four months. Final grades came out a couple days ago and I was proud of what I’ve accomplished in all my classes.

Howdy Guests!

Wow! Another month down and now it’s crunch time for finals! I can’t believe that this semester is almost over. Time sure flies by so fast! Looking back at this year, I am just amazed by the amount of things I have done. I was perusing through my planner and if someone asked me what I did last week, I would tell them numerous things ranging from balancing classes, organizations, and free time with my friends and family. For example, this weekend, my organization the Vietnamese American Student Association (VASA) is hosting our biggest event of the year Winter Formal in order to raise money for Dai Hoi, which is the Asian version of Olympics between competing schools in Texas. Networking, networking, networking, and a little Communication on the Side

Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

Many people say that their college years were the best times of their life. Because there were no permanent careers to be attached to, students came to college to gain knowledge by getting a degree for their future careers and to immerse themselves in campus activities. What else was there to do other than getting a part-time job to pay for tuition and attaining skills for a specific field of work? The answer was networking. From this past year, I found that networking with people in college required me to invest my time in getting to know someone and to establish meaningful relationships that will help me succeed later on in life. Xin chao!!! (or Howdy in Vietnamese)

Howdy! My name is Mary Nguyen and I am a sophomore business major from Houston, Texas, but more importantly I am a proud member of the FIGHTIN’ TEXAS AGGIE CLASS OF 2009! A-A-A-A-A!!! This is my first blog entry so I guess I’ll tell you a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in Houston, Texas for most of my life, but I also lived in Greenville, South Carolina and Atlanta, Georgia for quite some time. But “Texan” breeds in my blood. I am also first generation Vietnamese American because my parents originally are from Vietnam and I speak Vietnamese at home. (more…)
