It is almost May! Meaning that it is almost Summer!
I just finished my BUSN 289 final presentation yesterday, meaning that all I have lefts are final papers and finals. I love this time of the year! There is so much and so little going on at the same time. I’ve been busy getting my summer plans situated and trying to end this year on a good note! … Lets hope I don’t contract this “swine flu”!

I have had somewhat of a break from tests this last week, but have done my best not to fall into the trap of doing nothing at all. After finishing up the last round of tests before finals, I knew I would be tempted to catch up on sleep. I feel like I am actually doing a pretty good job at staying on track, and preparing for final exams when they are still over a week away. It is still hard for me to believe the spring semester is less than two weeks from over. Everyone seems to be happier on campus. Maybe it’s the good weather, or maybe they are like me and so excited to put an end to another semester that saw me spend many late nights in the library. I can say that all those hours were well worth it. (more…)

So I’ve finished the first of my four finals, and I have to say, my first final at the University of Edinburgh was…ROUGH. As I explained in my last blog, my international law final exam was worth 70% of my course mark and was testing me over an entire year’s worth of material. I was given 6 essay questions and needed to answer 4 of them in 3 hours. It was brutal! (more…)

I get artistic when I’m exhausted, and all of the colorful clothes in my laundry basket begin to appear as beautiful as the necklaces I have hanging around the statue of a woman’s head and shoulders on top of my desk. Mix in some rain, music and my favorite quilt, and you’ve got yourself a Fightin’ Texas Aggie Monday of Champions. I honestly got so much done today without ever really answering to anyone.

Recently I have felt too rushed to think, which probably is why I have been off the ball on blogging. I love living life ‘in the weeds’ (that’s waiter lingo for keeping busy) but unfortunately it seems like during times like that, something has to go. Unfortunately, this for me has been blogging.
But it is not as if I am busier than I have been in the past, it is just a different kind of busy. Truth be told, while I always have my laptop on me, I rarely have it out, and if I do, I’m usually watching and studying videos of choreography, designing concert programs and posters (which mine is May 2, 2009 at 7 o’clock in Read 263 on the Texas A&M Campus… shameless plug, I know, but just getting the word out) writing out resumes/cover letters or technical writing analyzing Apple Inc. And being on the road does not help the situation. (more…)

This week in my business meeting we had a guest speaker talk to us about the wonderful world of finance. He was very convincing, and I became interested in a finance career. This would be great news for someone who isn’t sure what they want to major in, but I thought I wanted to be an accounting major! This interest in a different career made me question my whole life plan. I needed someone to talk to, so I went to Dr. Shaub. (more…)

There have been lots of things going on since last week. As I mentioned, last weekend got rather busy in Aggieland. First, I’d like to say congratulations to the Aggie baseball team for sweeping the Huskers last weekend to take over sole possession of second place. T.U. swept Oklahoma and has taken over first in Big 12 play. We hook up with Oklahoma State this weekend at home before heading to Austin next weekend in a showdown that will most likely decide the regular season Big 12 championship. Call me crazy, but I got a good feeling we will be the champs for a third year in a row. Gig ‘em, boys. (more…)

First of all, my mother is fine! If you read my last post, I was going through a bit of a rough patch, worrying about my mom from thousands of miles away. She was in the hospital for bronchitis and they discovered some heart problems, but she’s completely fine! Arteries clear, no surgery needed. I don’t think I need to tell you too much how relieved I was to have that weight off my mind. I’m still worried about her, but it’s nice to know things are on the mend. (more…)

Sometimes the best weeks are the hardest to write about because anything I come up with sounds like a translation of “YAY ME!” I know that gets old fast, so I try to tame my giddy excitement into collected thoughts. When times are reeeally good, though, the writing doesn’t always match. My thoughts turn from steady, annoyingly nerdy analysis to “sdfksgdkds! yay!” and, I hear, that doesn’t make the best blog to read.
