It has been quite an interesting week for Texas A&M. We now have two more national titles, but we are also missing a University President. Who would have guessed that so many events could take place in such a small period of time?
I read the Batt every day, and I have been known to watch the news on occasion, but I still do not completely understand what happened to President Murano. You cannot step foot on campus without hearing some news about her resignation. Even freshmen students attending New Student Conferences are asking questions. The question now is who will be the new president of A&M?
This week I went Father’s day shopping. Surprisingly, my dad is the easiest person in my family to shop for. We are huge Dallas Cowboys fans, and you can never go wrong in buying a gift with the infamous star on it. Since moving from Rusk, I find College Station so much more convenient when it comes to shopping. It used to be a fifty minute drive just to go to the mall. Now it only takes ten minutes. Since it is summer, the mall isn’t too crowded. There wasn’t even a line at the puppy store!
Though it has only been three weeks since summer school started, the first session is already more than half over! I am only three tests away from finally completing Management 211. Don’t let the name fool you; the class is actually about the legal environment of business. After three days of lecture, I have confirmed that I do not want to become a lawyer. The ever changing judicial system is too complicated for me to understand.
Summer has officially begun and I cannot bear the heat. I stand corrected about the absence of College Station winds. Two days ago I was walking on campus and was almost blown off my feet. It wasn’t a nice cool breeze like you would expect, but more like being inside of a hot air balloon. Hopefully it will get cooler soon.
