3 Day Startup
Fall 2017 3DS: October 13-15, 2017
3 Day Startup teaches students about the trials and triumphs of starting a business over a 72-hour period. Students are encouraged to use the weekend’s risk-free environment to work on business ideas they are passionate about and would be interested in pursuing after the program has ended. Mentors and professors from Texas A&M are available throughout the weekend to help students fine-tune their businesses.
Application process: Interested students must apply to participate in 3 Day Startup. This program is offered during the Fall and Spring semesters.
Prerequisites: Participants must take part in a 3 Day Startup Boot Camp where they learn key entrepreneurial principles and best practices for maximizing their experience in the program. This boot camp is scheduled 1-2 weeks before the 3 Day Startup event.
3 Day Startup schedule: Participants spend the first day brainstorming ideas, hearing feedback and forming teams. Day 2 is focused on customer discovery, mentorship, intermediate pitches, feedback sessions and generation of a business model. Students use Day 3 to continue to plan their business’s execution and to give final pitches and demonstrations to a panel of mentors and investors.
Affiliation: Texas A&M’s program is affiliated with 3 Day Startup, Inc., which is a non-profit that helps teams run 3 Day Startup events by providing tools, resources and consulting.
