MS/HRM Program

Housed within Mays Business School at Texas A&M University, the Center for Human Resource Management (CHRM) is a catalyst for research and education in human resource management. We bring together top academics and senior human resource professionals from leading corporations, serving as a juncture where research and practice merge to advance the field.

The center focuses its efforts on three key initiatives:

  1. Educating current and future human resource leaders
  2. Supporting research in the field of human resources
  3. Facilitating networking opportunities.

Educating current and future human resource leaders

  • Business Case Presentation – Each spring first-year students in the Master of Science in Human Resource Management program present their analysis on a current issue in human resources and the impact it has on an organization. Business cases are evaluated by human resource executives.
  • Classroom speakers – the center taps into its extensive network of human resource professionals and executives to come to the classroom and discuss current issues in human resources.
  • Hot Topic Luncheons showcase research conducted by our faculty. Held in major cities, the series provides HR professionals an update on the latest research in the field as well as an opportunity to network among their peers.

Supporting research in the field of human resources

  • Current issues – During the centers corporate partner meetings Mays faculty discuss their current research and corporate partners discuss areas of interest.
  • Company speakers – The center sponsors faculty to participate in company meetings and share their latest research directly with organizations.
  • Connecting with Mays Faculty – CHRM corporate partners have direct access to faculty and can get immediate feedback on any research issue.

Facilitating networking opportunities

  • Spring Forum – Each spring the centers corporate partners participate in a forum on the latest research in human resources.
  • Fall Corporate Partner meeting– In the Fall the center’s corporate partners meet for one day to take a deep dive into one key issue.
  • Former Student Event – In conjunction with the Fall Corporate Partner meeting the center sponsors an event that brings back graduates of the MS/HRM program for a day of educational sessions and a home football game.
  • Former student network – The center stays connected with former students through emails and the annual event.

Student Scholarship

Through the generosity of our corporate partners and friends, CHRM provides scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing studies in the field of human resource management.
