Certificate Programs
International Certifications
Mays Business School offers a variety of international certification programs. Each program offers Mays students in the BBA and Agribusiness BS curricula the opportunity to study international business, develop understanding of other cultures and language knowledge to meet global business challenges.
Students who pursue any of these certifications must complete all requirements for the specific program prior to graduation. Interested students are responsible for planning early and should make an appointment to meet with an academic advisor in the Undergraduate Program Office.
- Certificate in International Business: Requirements include 18 hours of course work and completion of an approved international work or study abroad experience.
- Certificate in European Union Business: Requirements include 21 hours of course work, completion of an approved European Union work or study abroad experience, and demonstration of proficiency in a European Union language.
- Certificate in Latin American Business: Requirements include 21 hours of course work, completion of an approved Latin American work or study abroad experience, and demonstration of proficiency in a dominant Latin American language – Spanish or Portuguese.
Retailing Certification
The Center for Retailing Studies offers a Certificate in Retailing program. Through a customized program of retailing, marketing, and other educational experiences, students receive focused preparation for a retailing career.
Students who want to earn a Certificate in Retailing must declare their intent with the Center for Retailing Studies, 201 Wehner, (979) 845-0325.
Entrepreneurship Certification
A Certificate in Entrepreneurial Leadership offers Mays Business School undergraduate students seeking a BBA or BS the opportunity to study entrepreneurship in a focused set of courses. The Certificate in Entrepreneurial Leadership is designed to develop the competencies needed to successfully create and manage new ventures or to be a driver of innovation within existing enterprises. Emphasis is placed on leadership in three areas: conceiving, exploiting, and managing opportunities. Graduates of this certificate program are provided with the tools to plan for new business start-ups, become leaders in high growth firms, or to become corporate "intrapreneurs" capable of improving an organization’s ability to innovate.
