The Accounting Department has a limited number of employment opportunities for students. If you would like to apply, please submit an application form. You must submit a separate application for each work term.
Student Worker
This job
position is available to undergraduate and graduate students.
Most student workers are assigned to
a faculty member to assist him or her in carrying out teaching and research
activities (e.g. checking homework, entering grades, helping
maintain a class webboard,
tutoring other students at the help
desk, and gathering data for research projects).
Graduate Assistant
This job
position is available to masters and PhD students. The
job description is like the student worker
above but at a higher skill level. In the case of PhD students, the emphasis
is on research, with the expectation that the student can contribute to
all stages of a research project.

Student Workers: $ 6.50 per hour.
Student Technician I: $8.08 (~$700/month for 20 hour work
week).
Graduate Assistants (masters): $8.08 (~$700/month for 20 hour work
week).
Graduate Assistants (Ph.D): $ 1,450 per month (20 hour work

If you are hired, you must attend the student employee orientation session which will be scheduled the week before classes start. At this session, you must complete the new employee packet.
Check with Ms. Eppers regarding the time and place of the next student employee orientation session. Also, please call the accounting department (979.845.5014) and make reservations for your accounting department orientation session. You will also be required to attend an additional orientation regarding ethics. This is usually done the next day. Student workers attend their orientation in the Student Financial Aid Department (Pavillion) and Graduate Assistants will attend their two-hour orientation through the TAMU Human Resources Office.
Please bring appropriate documentation to complete the I-9, Eligibility for Employment Form (e.g. driver's license, birth certificate, passport, or nonlaminated social security card) to the session. Also, TAMU prefers you to enroll in automatic deposit, so please bring a deposit slip or voided check.
