Wait List/Full Courses
Management Course Wait List Information - Summer & Fall 2008
Updated on April 11, 2008
- The management department can wait list students for managment classes only. Similar policies for classes in other departments (e.g. KINE or INFO) are handled with advisors in those departments.
- To request inclusion on a wait list for a management class, you must complete the Management Wait List Form (yellow sheet for summer; blue sheet for fall) and return it to Patsy in 483 Wehner during the wait list timeframe (see #7 below).
- The management department considers enrollment from a wait list a privilege based on need rather than desitre. We will accommodate your request as needed, and if and where space permits.
- Based on #3 (above), the best way to potentially enroll in a full course is through watching the registration system for any openings that could occur as other students drop the course. Registration system availability is posted at https://register.mirkwood.tamu.edu/help.htm.
- Wait list requests will be queued in the following order when they are considered:
- Graduating seniors have top priority. Graduating status will be determined by the management advisor via a review of remaining degree requirements on your degree audit.
- Students needing MGMT 466 will be considered based on their completion of the course prerequisites: FINC 341, INFO 364, MGMT 363, MKTG 321 and U4 classification.
- Students pursuing a Certificate in International Business who are completing the business course requirements for the certificate.
- Non-graduating management majors who have a direct time conflict with another required course (when the conflicting course does not have an alternate section).
- Non-management business majors who have a direct time conflict with another required course (when the conflicting course does not have an alternate section).
- Students pursuing a business minor and seeking admission to MGMT 209 or MGMT 309 will be prioritized by graduation date.
- Students who have a work schedule conflict with a management class. While we understand the reality that many students must work during their university career, the management department expects that academic classes will remain the top priority for students. Work schedule considerations are the lowest priority consideration for forces and will only be granted when space permits.
- Graduating seniors have top priority. Graduating status will be determined by the management advisor via a review of remaining degree requirements on your degree audit.
- The following issues are not appropriate considerations for force enrollment.
- Section changes. If you are enrolled in a section, you are holding a seat that could be available to another student. Please drop your section in order to be considered for another.
- A more convenient class day/time. We understand that not everyone enjoys Friday and 8:00 am classes, but early (or late) classes throughout the week are a necessity of the university environment.
- Preference for a specific instructor.
- Section changes. If you are enrolled in a section, you are holding a seat that could be available to another student. Please drop your section in order to be considered for another.
- Wait List Review Dates - Forms accepted on dates below in 483 Wehner:
First Round April 18 to April 29, reviewed on April 30. Second Round April 30 to May 22 for SSI; reviewed daily through May 23. April 30 to June 27 for SSII; reviewed daily through June 30. April 30 to August 14 for fall; reviewed daily through August 15.
