Mays’ MS/HRM program helps you develop four core skill areas – conceptual, technical, interpersonal and communication. Our program not only provides specialized coursework in the area of HRM. But, it also exposes you to the core components of management, as well as an organization’s functional areas – accounting, finance, marketing and operations.

Aside from integrating these skill areas into your coursework, your marketability will be enhanced by taking specific courses in these areas. These courses comprise the Common Body of Knowledge (CBK), which you’ll take if you didn’t in your undergraduate program.

What’s Required
As a fully accredited program, we require at least 18 months of full-time study. While students are occasionally accepted on a part-time basis, part-time enrollment is discouraged.

The primary coursework includes 37 credit hours. You will take courses critical for your success in HRM, including: staffing, compensation, organizational behavior, HR research methods, HRIS, and employment law, among others. After your first year of coursework, you will have an opportunity to apply what you have learned during a professional internship.

If you are lacking any of the CBK courses, you may have to broaden your studies with coursework up to 49 credit hours.
