Q. I am trying to make an advising appointment on-line and there are no appointmens available. What do I do?

A. Advising is by appointment only during the first week of school and pre-registration. So if you are tryign to make an advising appointment at a time other than the first week of school or during pre-registration, the online appointment system will show that there are no available appointments. Please note that after the first week of school and before/after pre-registration, all advising is done on a walk-in basis. You do not need to make an appointment; you can just stop by to see an advisor during walk-in advising times.

Q. How do I get forced into a class?

A. Check the Forcing Policy for more details about the forcing process for the marketing department.

Q. My instructor told me I need to visit with a marketing department advisor regarding a prerequisite issue. Do I have to do this?

A. Yes. If you do not handle your prerequisite issue with marketing advisor, you will be dropped from the course.

Q. I am currently a MGMT, FINC, ACCT or INFO major and would like to switch my major to Marketing. What do I need to do?

A. Please visit with a Marketing advisor to change your major to Marketing.

Q. What do I need to do to ensure I am ready for graduation?

A. You should visit with a marketing advisor each semester to be sure you are on track to meet your graduation requirements. During pre-registration for your final semester, you will need to visit with a marketing advisor to do a final degree audit. You will also need to apply for graduation at http://degreeapp.tamu.edu, which also automatically adds the diploma fee option to your fee statement. This web site is only activated for use two weeks before the start of your graduating semester and until the second Friday of your graduating semester. YOU MUST APPLY no later than the second Friday of your graduating semester.

Q. How do I ensure that a course I take at another school will transfer to Texas A&M?

A. If you are planning to take a course at another Texas institution, you can utilize the Texas Common Course Numbering System to determine course transferability. If the course is not on the list, or if the class is being taken at a school outside of Texas, you will need to provide a catalog course description and as much other information about the course as possible to the Transfer Admissions office for review. Transfer Admissions is located in The Metro Centre, 3833 Texas Avenue, Suite 150, in Bryan. They can be reached at (979) 845-1067.
You are expected to complete your upper level business requirements at Texas A&M.
