I am Graduating! What do I need to do?
Eligibility for Graduation - May 2008
If you are planning to graduate this May, please carefully read the information below.
Degree Audit Check
After you have registered for your final semester, you will need to conduct a final degree audit to verify that you have enrolled in everything you need to fulfill degree requirements. Conducting a final degree audit means merely reviewing it at http://myrecord.tamu.edu and confirming what follows.
If Section 1 of your degree audit is entitled Academic Requirements Remaining, your record is NOT cleared for graduation. The information you see in this section of your audit indicates your remaining degree requirements, and generally means one or more of the following: 1) you are not enrolled in everything you need to graduate, 2) one or more of your courses are not appearing in the correct category, or 3) you are currently deficient in your major or CBK GPR (both must be at or above 2.0 by the end of your graduating semester).
If your degree audit Section 1 is entitled Academic Requirements Completed or In Progress, this means you are enrolled in everything you need to graduate and your degree audit is clear for graduation. Congratulations!
If you need assistance interpreting the degree audit, contact me ASAP to ensure you can graduate as planned.
Degree Application Deadline
If you are planning to graduate in May 2008, you must apply for graduation at http://degreeapp.tamu.edu anytime January 4 - 25. Doing this will automatically add the $40 diploma fee option to your fee statement, if you haven't already done so via the registration system.
A late fee of $50 will be assessed for applications received after the deadline. In addition, students who file after the deadline will not receive their diplomas on graduation day due to the length of time needed for printing.
NOTE: Adding the diploma/graduation fee option to your fees does not automatically make you a degree candidate.
For more information about graduation, visit http://graduation.tamu.edu. The specific date for Mays Business School graduation will be announced 4-5 weeks after the start of your graduating semester. The date will be posted on the graduation web site, and if you are subscribed to the management listserv, you will also be notified via that method.
Transfer Coursework
Business students are instructed to have all transfer course credit (including correspondence, dual enrollment, and credit-by-exam) posted to their TAMU transcript before the first class day of the graduating semester.
Tuition Rebate
You may be eligible for a tuition rebate. Details, eligibility requirements, and the application are available at http://www.tamu.edu/admissions/records/rebate.htm. Questions about eligibility should be directed to the degree audit office at 979-845-1089. If you are eligible, the deadline to apply is May 9 for May 2008 degree candidates.
Certificate Programs
If you will fulfill the requirements for one or more of the international certificates (see requirements at http://maysbschool.tamu.edu/upo/handbook/certificates.htm), you must submit the application available at that web site during your graduating semester.
