PhD Faculty in Marketing
Our faculty consists of active researchers and dedicated teachers who take a strong interest in the PhD Program. These faculty members publish extensively in the major journals of the discipline and author numerous textbooks used by universities all over the U.S. and abroad. According to a recent study of marketing departments and their faculty, Texas A&M's Mays ranks among the top business schools in the nation. In a study entitled "Assessing Productivity Based on Publication in the Top Four Marketing Journals, 1990-1996: A Multiple Method Approach," by Deborah F. Spake and Susan K. Harmon, the marketing department at Texas A&M was consistently among the top 20 universities across several measures of manuscripts published in the major marketing journals. Since then, the faculty has had several additional publications in these journals.
The department is committed to promoting a close working relationship between faculty and doctoral students. During the last ten years, a number of articles jointly authored by Texas A&M marketing faculty have been published in leading journals such as the Sloan Management Review, Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, and the Journal of Consumer Research, Marketing Science, and Management Science. In addition, all of our senior doctoral students have presented scholarly papers at national conferences and several of them have published papers in the leading marketing journals. The department encourages and, to the extent possible, supports its doctoral students to attend national conferences and doctoral consortiums.
