Biography

Dr. Jackson teaches real property valuation in the Master of Real Estate program. He has also taught courses on land development and land use planning in the College of Architecture. In addition, he is the President of Real Property Analytics, Inc. and has over twenty-seven years of experience in the valuation of real property, real estate consulting and urban planning. Previously, he was a Director in the Financial Advisory Services practice of Coopers & Lybrand in Houston and Phoenix.

Dr. Jackson is an MAI Member of the Appraisal Institute, a Counselor of Real Estate (CRE), a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS). He is a former member of the Appraisal Standards Board (ASB) of The Appraisal Foundation. The ASB establishes the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice, the generally accepted standards for real estate appraisers in the U.S. Currently, he is a member of the Education Committee of the Appraisal Institute.

Dr. Jackson's research has been published in the Journal of Real Estate Research, Journal of Real Estate Literature, Journal of Real Estate Practice and Education, The Appraisal Journal, Real Estate Review and The Real Estate Finance Journal, and in books published by the American Real Estate Society and the Appraisal Institute. He is a member of the Academic Review Panel and Statistics Work Group of The Appraisal Journal as well as the Editorial Board of Real Estate Issues, published by The Counselors of Real Estate. His research has been funded by the National Science Foundation, Lincoln Institute of Land Policy and The Appraisers Research Foundation.
