Biography
Professor Jasperson earned his Ph.D. in Information Management Science from Florida State University. His research interests include the adoption, use, management, and implementation of information technology in organizational settings. In particular, he is interested in how organizations give incentive to their employees to use IT in their work. His research has been published in MIS Quarterly, Communications of the ACM, Communications of the AIS, Journal of Information Systems Education, and the Journal of Information Systems. Professor Jasperson currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer of the OCIS Division in the Academy of Management.
His research entitled "Power and Information Technology Research: A Metatriangulation Review" about the role of power and information technology in organizations was recognized as the best paper published in MIS Quarterly during 2002.
His teaching emphasis is on systems development and database management systems. He has taught a number of management information systems courses in the areas of systems analysis and design, object-oriented systems development, accounting information systems, decision support systems, expert systems, programming languages, introductory MIS concepts, and quantitative methods for business decision making.
