Biography

Ying Zhu is a fifth year Ph.D. student in Marketing at Mays Business School, Texas A&M University. Her primary research interest is in the area of branding and behavioral decision theory. Other interests include the broad area of pricing, firm’s financial performance, and marketing strategy. Her dissertation examines the impact of retailer brand and manufacturer brand on consumers’ willingness to pay. Her unique training in econometrics and experimental methods allow her to look at the same question from both the consumer’s perspective and practitioner’s lens. Ying received her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Logistics from Huazhong University of Science and Technology and her first Master’s in Computer Science from Central University for Nationalities, China. Her second Master’s was in General Management from University of Lethbridge, Canada. Prior to join the program, she worked as a marketing analyst in Siemens in China and a service analyst in Sun Life financial in Canada.
