Biography
Roemer has deep roots in the Netherlands, where he was born and raised. He holds a Master's Degree in Industrial / Organizational Psychology from the Vrije University in Amsterdam, and worked for a large multinational in the Netherlands before settling in the United States in 1997.He made his way to Texas A&M University in 1999 as a full-time graduate student. After co-editing a book on the aging workforce and its consequences for US organizations, he successfully defended his dissertation in Human Resource Development in May, 2007.
Prior to defending, he had also been employed by the University as a Research Assistant in the College of Education and as Management Analyst in the Department of Multicultural Services. After serving as Senior Employee Development Specialist in the Office of Employee Services, he joined Mays Business School as a faculty member associated with the Transitions Program.
He and his wife Lesley live in College Station with their twin girls, Tessel and Clara, who were born June 12, 2007.
