Mario Schijven

Biography

Dr. Mario Schijven's research focuses on corporate development activities - particularly mergers and acquisitions - and how firms can learn to undertake them more successfully. His research has appeared or is forthcoming in the Academy of Management Journal and the Journal of Management, among others.

He has received several research awards, including Distinguished Paper Awards and the 2009 Wiley Blackwell Outstanding Dissertation Award from the Business Policy and Strategy Division of the Academy of Management, a Best Conference Paper Prize Honorable Mention from the Strategic Management Society, and a Finalist Award from the INFORMS/Organization Science Dissertation Proposal Competition.

Dr. Schijven serves on the editorial boards of the Academy of Management Journal and the Journal of Management, and he is an ad hoc reviewer for the Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, the Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, and others. He teaches (honors) sections of a bachelors- and masters-level capstone course on Strategic Management.
