Biography

Stephen W. McDaniel is Professor of Marketing in Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. Dr. McDaniel is the faculty advisor for Master of Science in Marketing students and for Marketing Cooperative Education students. Additionally, he serves as faculty advisor for the Masters Marketing Association, Freedom Ministries (Upstream Bible Study) and is on the Board of Directors of Breakaway Ministries.

Dr. McDaniel is co-author of two books, Consumer Behavior: Classical and Contemporary Dimensions (Little, Brown, and Co., 1982) and Cases in Marketing Strategy (Merrill Publishing Co.,1984).

He has published over fifty articles in academic journals, including the Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Advertising, Journal of Advertising Research, Journal of Professional Services Marketing,Journal of Business Research, and Sloan Management Review. Professor McDaniel's research has focused mainly in the areas of marketing strategy, marketing research, methodology, consumer behavior, services marketing,religious marketing, and marketing ethics.

He is a member of editorial boards of the Journal of Business Research, Journal of Consumer Marketing, and Journal of Professional Marketing.

Dr. McDaniel has conducted or coordinated market research studies for over eighty companies and nonprofit organizations in the following areas:government services, financial services, new technologies, construction materials, professional services, conference retreats, telecommunications, and a wide variety of retailing and other service based organizations.

Professor McDaniel resides in College Station with Nancy, his wife of 33 years. They have a 29-year old son Brian, who is a graduate of Texas A&M, and a 24-year old daughter Sarah, who is a student at Sam Houston State University.
