Biography
L.R. Martindale teaches Money & Capital Markets, directs the BBA Program in Finance, and represents the Finance Department in the Faculty Senate and a number of committees and task forces. He formerly directed Mays Business Fellows, co-directed the Eisenhower Program in the George Bush School, and helped found Titans of Investing.
Before joining A&M's faculty, Prrof. Martindale practiced law and accountancy and gained teaching experience in various branches of business, economics, and law. While in private practice he consulted in the areas of public finance, accounting systems, and capital budgeting, and assisted other attorneys with expert witness issues in banking and financial reporting. Before entering private practice, his professional focus as a commercial banker was on credit quality assurance. He has helped write and enforce lending policies and procedures and managed a variety of complex lending relationships.
Prof. Martindale recently co-authored the study guide and supplements accompanying a leading textbook on financial markets and institutions. He has lectured outside the classroom at the Armed Forces Leadership Conference and various Mays learning communities.
During his leisure time, Prof. Martindale is a Civil War enthusiast, an amateur financial historian, and a reasonably accomplished cook.
