The Graduate Business Career Services office (GBCS) will host its signature Career Management Conference on Friday, October 3 from 8:30 am – 3:00 pm.

“Relationships for Career Success” is the theme for the 2014 Career Management Conference. The morning session will open with a keynote address from international speaker and bestselling author Keith Ferrazzi.

Following Keith’s presentation, there will be a panel discussion with corporate managers as a reaction to his remarks. After lunch, the program will transition to a time for students to practice what they learned that morning in a professional networking session which will coincide with a career fair.

Various myths about why and how our climate is warming persist in the US public despite overwhelming evidence and an overwhelming scientific consensus as to the causes of warming. I will address some of the most popular myths, but also show results from developing social science research showing that (i) continued misinformation of the public using well-established doubt-tactics, and (ii) the public's cultural polarization both affect the way factual information is processed and used.

We are privileged to have, Dr. Andrew Lo of MIT, a highly acclaimed scholar in Finance as this year's Dean's Distinguished Scholar.

Please join us for remarks on Friday, October 24 from 10:30 - 12:00 in the Ray Auditorium of the Wehner Building

Dr. Andrew Lo has published numerous articles in finance and economics journals, and has authored several books including The Econometrics of Financial Markets, A Non-Random Walk Down Wall Street, and Hedge Funds: An Analytic Perspective.

His awards include an Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Fellowship, a Guggenheim Fellowship, the Paul A. Samuelson Award, election to Academia Sinica, the Econometric Society, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Time Magazine’s 2012 list of the “100 most influential people in the world,” and awards for teaching from the University of Pennsylvania and MIT.

His most recent research interests include econometric models of systemic risk, evolutionary and neurobiological models of investor behavior, and applications of financial engineering to support translational medicine in cancer, orphan diseases, and Alzheimer’s Disease.
