Real Estate Organizations
Real Estate Association (REA)
The Real Estate Association is a graduate networking and social organization open to all students in the Real Estate program.
This student organization for our program has continued to expand its activities beyond providing networking, football tailgates and other social activities such as Crawfish Boils, Rock Hero night and REA Olympics. They organized a Habitat for Humanity volunteer weekend and participated in the Big Event. Part of the focus of this group is to assist current and prospective students interested in real estate as a career. Students preparing to graduate mentor new classes in obtaining internships, classroom projects and adjusting to graduate life.
Graduate Real Estate Women (GREW)
GREW’s purpose is to develop the talents and support the career goals of students in the Real Estate program through interaction with current Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Houston chapter members.
Aggie Real Estate Network
Graduates of the Real Estate program organized the Society of Texas A&M Real Estate Professionals (STAMREP) to further their professional development and to assist the Real Estate program with its educational mission. In 2008, the organization made the decision to change their name to Aggie Real Estate Network in order to incorporate a vastly changing industry as well as encompass a larger group of people.
Today, this professional organization has several hundred members who are active in real estate throughout Texas and the United States. A current directory of former Real Estate program students aids both former and current students to quickly find a friendly expert when information or advice is needed. The Aggie Real Estate Network strives to educate, promote and support commercial real estate professionals to become industry leaders, network with their peers, provide scholarships to current students, and support the real estate programs at Texas A&M University.
The Aggie Real Estate Network makes significant contributions to the Real Estate Program. Through Aggie Real Estate Network’s efforts, endowed scholarships provide annual awards to outstanding Real Estate program students. Each semester, students who have earned scholarships are recognized for their scholarly achievements.
Individual Aggie Real Estate Network members are regular visitors to our classrooms as a part of the organization's Mentoring Program and are regular participants in the Real Estate program's Real Estate Career Roundtable Day. In addition to providing our students with current information about the various opportunities in real estate, these classroom visitors often provide follow-up information to students who have a career interest in a specialized area. A significant number of our students obtain internships and permanent positions through the Aggie Real Estate Network.
The Aggie Real Estate Network's annual business meeting is devoted to updating its membership's real estate knowledge, to networking, and to planning its assistance to the Real Estate Program. There is also time for golf, catching up with old friends and making new friends. Attendance by current Real Estate program students is encouraged.
