How to Apply for Faculty Positions at Mays

Mays Business School invites applications for faculty positions at all ranks. Candidates must be well grounded in research methodology and committed to effective teaching. A PhD is required. A strong interest in teaching at the BBA, MBA and PhD levels is essential; a proven record in teaching and research is desirable. Applications in all business disciplines are welcome.

In their applications to Mays, faculty applicants should submit a cover letter and a resume or curriculum vitae that includes the following elements:

  1. education
  2. research/publication record
  3. indicators of teaching activity/effectiveness or potential
  4. work or other experience
  5. a list of three references with addresses (including email) and phone numbers
  6. selected working papers and publications
  7. statement of expectations and professional goals

Department of Finance

The Department of Finance at Mays Business School, Texas A&M University invites applications for multiple finance faculty positions to begin Fall 2017. These positions are contingent on funding.

Job Description: At the assistant professor level, preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated potential for publishing high quality research in leading journals. Candidates currently serving at the associate or full professor level who have an established record of publishing in top journals may be considered for endowed positions.

Job Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Finance or equivalent is required. We will consider candidates in all areas of finance. Faculty will be expected to teach courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels and conduct research publishable in top journals.

Department of Information and Operations Management

4696- Supply Chain Mgmt. ( Junior Position )
We are currently recruiting for an untenured, tenure-track faculty member in Supply Chain Management.

Position and Qualifications: The Department of Information and Operations Management in Mays Business School at Texas A&M University intends to hire an untenured, tenure-track colleague at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in supply chain management. We will begin reviewing applicants in October 2016 for a start date of August 2017.
Successful candidates will pursue and promote a research agenda in supply chain management focused on premier-quality publications in leading journals; provide intellectual leadership for junior faculty and doctoral students; play a pivotal role in extending the national reputation of the department through scholarship and service; and teach courses across our undergraduate and graduate programs. Candidates must be pursuing or have obtained a doctoral degree in Supply Chain Management or a related area.

4690-Analytics Supply Chain Mgmt. ( Senior Position )
We are currently recruiting for a senior scholar in Analytics. The intellectual domain of scholarship can be in Information Systems or Supply Chain Management.

Position and Qualifications: The Department of Information and Operations Management in Mays Business School at Texas A&M University intends to hire an untenured, tenure-track colleague at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in supply chain management. We will begin reviewing applicants in October 2016 for a start date of August 2017.
Successful candidates will pursue and promote a research agenda in Analytics focused on premier-quality publications in leading journals; provide intellectual leadership for junior faculty and doctoral students; play a pivotal role in extending the national reputation of the department through scholarship and service; and teach courses across our undergraduate and graduate programs. A doctoral degree in business administration or a related subject is required.

The Environment: The Texas A&M business undergraduate program is ranked 29th by U.S. News & World Report and 29th by BusinessWeek. The Mays MBA program is ranked 27th by U.S. News & World Report and 22nd by BusinessWeek.
The INFO Department has 17 tenure-track faculty, 540 undergraduate majors, 240 MS-MIS students, and 10 doctoral students. The faculty have combined for the second most co-authorships among all schools world-wide in Production and Operations Management. The UT-Dallas publications website ranks A&M 8th in publishing in Production and Operations Management, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, and Journal of Operations Management in the past five years.
The College Station-Bryan metro area has a population of 250,000, a low cost of living (including no state income taxes), excellent schools, very low crime, and excellent health care. The College Station airport is served by United and American Airlines. College Station is a 1.5 hour drive to Houston, 2 hours to Austin, and 3 hours to Dallas-Fort Worth.

Non-tenure track faculty member in Information Systems

Position and Qualifications: The Department of Information and Operations Management in Mays Business School at Texas A&M University intends to hire a clinical track colleague in Information Systems for a start date of August 2017. Clinical faculty are doctoral-qualified in information systems and teach six courses per year.

There are also research and service expectations. Salaries are competitive and correspond with median nine-month salaries at AACSB accredited schools.

Department of Marketing

The Department of Marketing in the Mays Business School, Texas A&M University, invites applications for two new tenure-track positions, one junior and one senior.

The first position is at the rank of assistant professor, starting in Fall 2017. Applications will be considered from all areas of specialization in marketing, but candidates must possess an earned PhD and have demonstrated potential for excellence in scholarly research, along with the ability to make meaningful teaching contributions.

The second position is at the rank of associate or full professor, starting in Fall 2017. Applications will be considered from all areas of specialization in marketing (priority given to consumer behavior), but candidates must possess an earned PhD and an established record of excellence in scholarly research, along with the ability to make meaningful teaching contributions. In particular, a senior colleague should have the ability to work with doctoral students and effectively place them at peer and aspirant universities.

The Mays Business School and our department offer an excellent research environment, with a collegial culture, productive colleagues, access to key databases, a state-of-the-art behavioral research lab, a low teaching load, and relationships with world-class research faculty in related disciplines.
