Mays Business School invites applications for faculty positions at all ranks. Candidates must be well grounded in research methodology and committed to effective teaching. A Ph.D. is required. A strong interest in teaching at the BBA, MBA and Ph.D. levels is essential; a proven record in teaching and research is desirable. Applications in all business disciplines are welcome.

Department of Accounting

The Department of Accounting invites applications for a tenured faculty position beginning in January or August 2018. The position requires a strong interest in data analytics including a willingness to teach and develop courses in data analytics. The position also offers the opportunity to interface with the new Mays Innovation Research Center, which can provide resources for data analytics related research.

Job Description: The position is at the associate professor or full professor level and there is the potential for qualified candidates to be appointed to an endowed position. Department of Finance

The Department of Finance invites applications for two finance faculty positions to begin Fall 2018 – one assistant professor  and one associate professor . These positions are contingent on funding.

Job Description: At the assistant professor level, preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated potential for publishing high-quality research in leading journals. At the associate professor level, we seek candidates who have an established record of publishing in top journals.

Job Qualifications: A Ph.D. in finance or equivalent is required. We will consider candidates in all areas of finance. Faculty will be expected to teach courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels and conduct research publishable in top journals.

Department of Information and Operations Management

The Department of Information and Operations Management is looking to add two faculty members in different roles in the Supply Chain/Operations Management domain. Both positions have an anticipated start date of fall 2018.

Tenure track position: ID 6095: We are currently recruiting for either an untenured, tenure-track, tenure on arrival faculty member in Supply Chain Management at the Assistant Professor level or a tenured faculty member at the Associate Professor level.

Successful candidates will pursue and promote a research agenda in supply chain management focused on premier-quality publications in leading journals; provide intellectual leadership for junior faculty and doctoral students; play a pivotal role in extending the national reputation of the department through scholarship and service; and teach courses across our undergraduate and graduate programs. Candidates must have an earned doctorate or be near completion of a doctorate in Supply Chain Management or a related area.

Non-tenure track position: ID 6094: We are currently recruiting for an Academic Professional Track (non-tenure-track) faculty member in Supply Chain Management with the title of Assistant, Associate, or Full Clinical Professor, Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, or Executive Professor.

Candidates for the title of Assistant, Associate, or Full Clinical Professor must have an earned doctorate or be near completion of a doctorate. Teaching is the main responsibility, at three classes per semester, but there are also research and service responsibilities. Candidates for the title of Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, or Executive Professor should have an earned Master’s degree. There are no research expectations for these titles. Teaching responsibilities are four classes per term.

The Environment:

The Texas A&M business undergraduate program is ranked 27th by U.S. News & World Report and 29th by BusinessWeek. The Mays MBA program is ranked 27th by U.S. News & World Report and 18th by BusinessWeek.

The INFO Department has 17 tenure-track faculty members, 500 undergraduate majors, 240 MS-MIS students, and 9 doctoral students. The faculty members have combined for the second-most co-authorships among all schools worldwide in the journal Production and Operations Management. The UT-Dallas publications website ranks A&M 8th worldwide in publishing in Production and Operations Management, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, and Journal of Operations Management in the past five years. We are 2nd in the world in editorships in those journals plus the Operations Management Department of Management Science.

The College Station-Bryan metro area has a population of 250,000, a low cost of living (including no state income taxes), excellent schools, very low crime, and excellent health care. The College Station airport is served by United and American Airlines. College Station is a 1.5-hour drive to Houston, two hours to Austin, and three hours to Dallas-Fort Worth.

Department of Marketing

The Department of Marketing invites applications for the Department Head position and for a junior tenure-track position.

Position and Qualifications. Mays Business School is seeking to employ a Department Head for the Department of Marketing, beginning preferably in June 2018, but the starting date is negotiable. The Department Head works with and reports to the Executive Associate Dean of Mays Business School and is responsible for academic and administrative leadership of the department while fulfilling teaching and research duties as needed. The desired qualifications for appointment to the position of department head include:

  1. Ph.D. in marketing or a closely related area.
  2. Qualifications for the rank of professor. Candidates with an exceptional scholarly record will be considered for an endowed position.
  3. Significant record of teaching and research in marketing
  4. Ability to provide academic and administrative leadership to the department
  5. Ability to work effectively with the multiple stakeholders of the department, college, and Texas A&M University

Assistant Professor
The position for a junior tenure-track position is at the rank of assistant professor or associate professor, starting in Fall 2018. Applications will be considered from all areas of specialization in marketing, but candidates must possess an earned Ph.D. and have demonstrated potential for excellence in scholarly research, given the strong research values among this group of active faculty, along with the ability to make meaningful teaching contributions.

The Summer AMA conference in San Francisco offers the opportunity for initial interviews and/or exploratory conversations.
