Other Scholarship Opportunities

There are many scholarships offered by local, regional and national organizations which can be used by incoming and/or current Texas A&M students. The scholarships have various criteria, so check out their individual websites to learn more.

Howdy Club Scholarships
The Howdy Club, a Houston-based Former Student organization, recognizes the determination and effort necessary to succeed at Texas A&M and provides scholarships to students who best exemplify the “Aggie Spirit,” not financial need or academics. Hispanic Scholarship Fund
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund offers a wide variety of scholarships for college students. For more information, visit www.hsf.net.

Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute
The CHCI Scholarship Award is given to Latino students who show strong leadership skills in their community and who plan to continue giving back to their communities in the future. Deadline: April. For more information, visit www.chci.org/scholarships/.

League of United Latin American Citizens
LULAC offers numerous scholarships. To learn more or to request an application, visit http://lulac.org/programs/education/.

Grandmothers for Peace
They offer $250-$500 scholarships. No minimum grade point average required to apply, but you have to request an application by mail. Requires an essay. Deadline: March 1. Learn more at www.grandmothersforpeace.org.

Wells Fargo Education Financial Services
The Wells Fargo CollegeSTEPS Program gives away twenty $1,000 scholarships annually. To find out more, visit www.wellsfargo.com/student/planning/scholarships/.

United Negro College Fund
The United Negro College Fund offers access to more than 40 corporate and individual scholarship programs, all with varying requirements and levels of reward. To learn more, visit www.uncf.org/forstudents/scholarship.asp.

Ron Brown Scholar Program
The Ron Brown Scholar Program provides scholarships for students who demonstrate leadership, community service and is open to students who have interest in any major. The competition for these highly prestigious scholarships is generally very strong. Deadline: November 15 and January 9. To find out more, go to www.ronbrown.org.

Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship
The foundation awards $7,000 scholarships to approximately 100 students each year. It's a renewable scholarship and is based on academic merit, leadership, and community service. It's open to all majors. Deadline: April 1. Details available at www.jackierobinson.org.

Gates Millennium Scholarships
The Gates Millennium Scholarships promote academic excellence and provide an opportunity for thousands of outstanding students who have significant financial need. The scholarships cover room, board and tuition for at least 1,000 high school students a year. Deadline: Usually in January. More information is available at www.gmsp.org.

All-ink.com
All-Ink.com is offering $5,000 in scholarships to qualified students who are enrolled or planning to attend college during the upcoming school year. Students who apply must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident with a minimum 2.5 grade point average. Deadline: December 31. For more information, visit www.all-ink.com/scholarship.aspx.

Burger King Scholars

Jane Austen Essay Contest
The Jane Austen Society of North America Essay Contest is open to high school, undergraduate and graduate students. Students interested in the life and works of Jane Austen may find this contest appealing. Prizes will be awarded to each level of students: high school, undergraduate and graduate. McDonald's USA National Employee Scholarship Program

Hispanic College Fund
The Hispanic College Fund offers several scholarships programs to a variety of students. Deadline: Usually mid-March. For more information, go to www.hispanicfund.org.

Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation
The Foundation provides financial assistance in the form of scholarships to deserving sons and daughters of current or former United States Marines. Assistance is also available to deserving sons and daughters of current or former United States Navy Corpsmen, who have served with the United States Marine Corps, in their pursuit of higher education. Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation
The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation awards scholarships based on character, personal merit and commitment. Merit is demonstrated through leadership in school, civic and extracurricular activities, academic achievement and motivation to serve and succeed. Deadline: Usually in October. Discover Scholarship Program
