Undergraduate Program Enrollment Management

(subject to annual review)

Effective Date: Fall 2007 - Summer 2008

Mays Business School limits the number of undergraduate students admitted to the school to 1,200 per year through the enrollment management program described below. Appeal processes are available for students who believe their circumstances warrant special consideration.

Freshman Admission: (Target admission for 2007 - 2008 = 850 students)

• Admission will be granted, on a space-available basis, to freshman applicants who meet Office of Admissions requirements for business and who declare by May 1, 2008 Mays Business School as their first choice.

EXTERNAL Transfer Student Admission: (Target admission for 2007 - 2008 = 75 students)

• Transfer applicants will be admitted on a competitive basis through a comprehensive application review process for summer or fall admission only.
• Transfer applicants are expected to have completed and excelled in substantially all 27 hours of graded foundation courses in Table 1 of the "Degree Track E." Successful applicants typically have a combination of "A's" and "B's" in this foundation course work and a high overall GPR. The entire application, including essays, is considered in identifying admissible candidates.

INTERNAL Transfer (i.e., Change-of-Curriculum) Student Admission: (Target admission for 2007 - 2008 = 275 students)

• To apply for change of curriculum to Mays Business School, certain requirements must be met, including successful completion of a subset of specific courses and a cumulative GPR of 3.0 or greater in a minimum of 30 graded hours at Texas A&M University and a maximum of 75 total hours (including transfer credit and pass/fail courses).

Upper Level Entry Requirements:

• Business student with minimum of 60 hours
• Successful completion of the foundation prerequisite coursework (ACCT 229, 230; INFO 210; ECON 202, 203; MGMT 211; MATH 141, 142) is required to enter upper level.
• Students must use MyRecord to apply for upper level entry by the deadlines of April 15, July 15, or November 15.

Obligation to Remain in Good Academic Standing:

• Graduation requirements include the following:
  • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPR in all course work taken at Texas A&M
  • A minimum 2.0 GPR in all courses in the CBK taken at Texas A&M
  • A minimum 2.0 GPR in all courses in major field taken at Texas A&M
• Business students have the obligation to remain at all times in good academic standing, which is defined as a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPR in all course work taken at Texas A&M.
• Business students whose cumulative GPR at Texas A&M falls below a 2.0 will be blocked from further registration and will be dropped from Mays Business School enrollment without probation.
• Students who are dropped from the Mays Business School for not maintaining a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPR will only be readmitted after meeting change-of-curriculum requirements. Thus, some dropped students may not be eligible for future readmission into Mays Business School.
