Footnotes For All Curricula

  1. To be selected from any American History course, limited to 3 hours of Texas History (elective list).
  2. “Electives” are any courses offered for university credit Students may register for elective courses on a graded or pass/fail basis (S/U). Students whose high school transcript does not satisfy Texas A&M University’s foreign language graduation requirement MUST complete a two-semester sequence of a foreign language. These credit earned will count toward the general elective requirement.
  3. Choose from the list of Natural Science courses (elective list).
  4. English 104 is a core curriculum requirement. Enrollment in the course is restricted to students with freshman or sophomore classification (transfer hours included).
  5. MATH 131, 151, or 171 will be accepted in lieu of MATH 142. MATH 152, 166, 172 or 304 will be accepted for MATH 141.
  6. To be selected from a list of courses in Anthropology, Psychology, Sociology and Women’s Studies (page 34). Students majoring in Management or Marketing must take PSYC 107.
  7. Choose from the list of Humanities Elective courses (elective list).
  8. Any 300- or 400-level Accounting course except ACCT 315, 316, 327, or 328. Before enrolling in ACCT 489, students should check with an advisor in the Accounting Department.
  9. Any Finance course except FINC 201, 478, and 484.
  10. MGMT and INFO majors should select their directed electives from the lists located in the Undergraduate Program Office, 209 Wehner. Students who wish to use courses that are not listed need approval from their department advisor. (MIS elective list) (SUP elective list) (MGMT elective list)
  11. To be selected from the list of International Elective courses (elective list). Management majors must take MGMT 450 as one of the two required international electives. Agribusiness majors should go to 331 Blocker for a complete list of approved international electives.
  12. Any 300- or 400-level business course (ACCT, INFO, FINC, MGMT) except MKTG 300-499; FINC 309, 341; INFO 303, 364, MGMT 309, 363, 466.
  13. Six hours of technical agricultural electives to be selected from: AGSM/FSTC 213; AGRO 105; ANSC 107/108; DASC 202; ENTO 201, 208, 222; FRSC 204*; 302; FSTC 201; HORT 201/202; HORT/FSTC 311; NUTR 202; POSC 201/202; RLEM 314.
    * Requires BOTN 101 or BIOL 113
  14. “Electives” should be designed to meet student’s career objectives. These courses must be 300- or 400-level and chosen in consultation with the agribusiness advisor.
  15. MGMT majors must select their skills/competency elective from the list located in the Undergraduate Program Office, 209 Wehner, or with the Department of Management advisor.
  16. Choose from any Marketing course offered but not required.
  17. Choose from the list of Visual and Performing Arts Elective courses (elective list).
  18. Kinesiology requirements are to be fulfilled by completing KINE 198 Health and Fitness and one KINE 199 course. KINE 198 may be taken graded or S/U. KINE 199 MUST be taken S/U. Transfer students with fewer than 2 hours KINE must meet the KINE 198 requirement either by transfer of credit or by taking the course at Texas A&M.
