Fall 2017 Beginning Spanish

Melissa Burns, June 28th, 2017

 Beginning Spanish (Non-Credit)

This class is a crash course in how to approach foreign language learning. Unlike the college courses, there will not be extensive grammatical lectures. This class will concentrate in oral practice. The participants will be required to practice conversation out of the classroom. Do not expect to become bilingual by this course. I will be providing weekly handouts and exercises from the workbook/textbook, which will be discussed and used in oral practice in class. Spanish courses are open to faculty, staff, TAMU students, and members of the community. Children (age 10 and above) may participate in the Beginning Spanish course if accompanied by an adult also taking the course.

The Center for International Business Studies has been sponsoring Non-credit Spanish classes for many years.  This “blog” will be used as an additional source to reach out to the community and students participating in our classes.  We will use the blog for many purposes:

  1. Post class assignments,
  2. Provide students with important links and information,
  3. Communication between the instructor and students – by posting questions on the blog, the instructor can answer the question, and ALL the students can see the response and LEARN.
