When can I apply to change curriculum to Mays Business School?
You may apply to change curriculum to Mays once you have met all of the specific minimum requirements.
All academic information included on your application must appear in your official academic record at Texas A&M University.
Change of curriculum applications may be submitted in the Undergraduate Program Office (UPO), 238 Wehner, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, according to the following schedule:
- Spring 2012: January 2 - May 1, 2012
- Summer/Fall 2012*: May 18 - December 4, 2012
- Spring 2013: January 2 - April 30, 2013
*- August 7-15, 2012, applications CANNOT be processed due to summer grade reporting. Mays Business School will continue accepting change of curriculum applications August 7-15, 2012, but cannot process applications during the university's grade reporting and processing period.
When will I be notified that my application has been accepted or denied?
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis during open application periods and, at a minimum, on a weekly basis. Applicants who apply by noon on a Tuesday will receive a decision by the following Thursday via TAMU E-mail.
How will I be notified of the decision?
You will be notified of the decision via e-mail to your TAMU E-mail account. Decisions will NOT be given by telephone.
What if I have a 3.0 Texas A&M cumulative GPA, but lack the 3.0 GPA in the courses completed from the specific list; can I apply to change curriculum?
No. To apply for change of curriculum to Mays, you MUST meet all of the specific minimum requirements. Once you have met all requirements, you may apply to change curriculum.

Can I apply to change curriculum to Mays even if I completed some or all of the minimum four courses from the specific list at an institution other than Texas A&M?
Yes. It is acceptable to complete and acquire credit for some or all of the minimum four courses from the specific list at an institution other than Texas A&M. All academic information for the application must appear in your official Texas A&M academic record. The grade average of the course work must meet the required minimum 3.0 GPA.
Will credit for courses on the specific list earned by exam or by dual enrollment be used to meet the minimum four-course requirement?
Yes. Credit-by-exam and dual enrollment transfer course credit may be used to meet the minimum four-course requirement. However, credit by exam is not accepted for ACCT 229, ACCT 230 or INFO 210.
If I have Texas A&M credit for a course on the specific courses list but repeat the course equivalent at another college or university to improve my grade, will both grades be used to calculate the specific course list GPA?
No, both grades will not be used. Only the higher grade earned will be used to calculate the minimum specific course list GPA. (Remember, however, that all grades in courses completed at Texas A&M are used in the calculation of your Texas A&M cumulative GPA.)
If my application to change curriculum is denied, can I appeal the decision?
No. If your application is denied because you submitted an ineligible application (that is, you did not meet all of the specific minimum requirements to apply), you may submit another application when, and only when, you meet all specific minimum requirements.
Do not submit a new application until you are certain that you meet all specific minimum requirements.
If I lack the specific minimum requirements to apply for change of curriculum, can I appeal?
An appeal process exists and requests are considered once per semester, on a scheduled date before each semester. All appeals must be submitted in writing to the Undergraduate Program Office (UPO). Contact the UPO, 238 Wehner, for more specific information about how to submit an appeal.
The opening dates and deadlines, by semester, to submit an appeal for consideration are:
- Summer 2012: May 1 - 17, 2012
- Fall 2012: August 1 - 16, 2012
- Spring 2013: December 3, 2012 - January 3, 2013
All appeals are due by noon on the deadline date listed above.
Appeal decisions are sent to the student's TAMU E-mail account. Decisions will NOT be given by telephone.
What if I miss the deadline to apply for change of curriculum in a given semester?
Application deadlines are announced at the beginning of each enrollment period. If you miss the deadline for a given semester, you must wait until the first day of the next application period to file your application.
Does KINE 199 S/U credit count toward the "minimum of 30 graded hours at Texas A&M" requirement?
Yes, KINE 199 S/U credit will count toward the required "minimum of 30 graded hours at Texas A&M."
