The AI in Business minor is open to all undergraduate students at Texas A&M University interested in utilizing AI or machine learning (ML) in a business setting. You can combine your expertise from your major to efficiently and effectively utilize AI/ML to advance your career and company. To apply to the AI in Business minor, students can speak to their academic advisor in their home college or major department.

To be eligible for the AI in Business minor, students must have:
- A 3.0 or better overall GPA
- Completed at least 12 credit hours at Texas A&M University
There is no 90-hour cap for students pursuing the minor. Students are encouraged to start taking AI in Business minor courses as soon as the minor is declared.
Class Type and Length
Courses are fully online and do not have any synchronous meeting times. These classes are eight-week courses. Courses will run on the following dates for the next academic year:
- Summer 2026: May 26-July 19
- Fall 2026: Aug. 24-Oct. 18
- Spring 2027: Jan. 18-March 14

No, no prior coding or programming experience is required to successfully complete the coursework. We’ve designed the courses to be accessible to everyone, regardless of their coding background. Every session includes an introduction to the concept without any programming requirements. However, for those interested and eager to delve deeper, optional segments that introduce a coded version of the concepts covered will be offered.
No, there will not be an additional DE fee associated with the undergraduate sections of the courses included in the minor.
No, these classes can be taken in any order. For Spring and Summer 2026, students will need to complete BUSN 450 with or before the other classes in the minor. However, an override is available for students to bypass this requirement. To receive the override, please submit this request.
