Buying, Owning, and Operating Existing Businesses

The Mays Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (ETA) Forum introduces students to one of the most important and underappreciated entrepreneurial pathways: acquiring and leading an existing company. In a state like Texas, where ownership transition and regional economic growth are happening at scale, the Mays ETA Forum offers a meaningful path for students who want to operate, create value, and build long-term ownership through existing firms.

What to Expect

The Mays ETA Forum programming helps students understand how acquisition works in practice, what strong opportunities look like, and how operators improve businesses after a transaction. Through events, workshops, case discussions, and ecosystem engagement, students gain exposure to deal dynamics, evaluation, operating leadership, and search strategy.
