Biography

Carlie Pierre was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, but spent a significant time of her life in Coral Springs, Florida. Prior to joining Texas A&M University, Carlie worked for the French Ministry of Education as an English Teaching Assistant. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in French from Florida Gulf Coast University, and a Master of Education in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Texas State University.

Throughout her time at Texas State University, Carlie served as a graduate assistant for Fraternity and Sorority Life in the Dean of Students office, a career counselor for Career Services, and a graduate intern for the Office of Student Diversity and Inclusion.

Carlie finds meaning in advancing the conversation on social justice education, creating inclusive and empowering spaces, and developing self-aware students as they navigate higher education and prepare to live in a global society.  As program coordinator, Carlie oversees diversity and inclusion programming to enhance equity, engagement, and student success.
