Biography

David W. Bettencourt is the Assistant Director of the Graduate Career Management Center at Mays Business School, where he supports student career development through career coaching, programming, and strategic initiatives. His work is informed by a diverse professional background spanning education, healthcare, leadership, and business operations.

Prior to joining Mays Business School, David served in leadership roles with the Youth Aware of Mental Health (YAM) program at the Texas A&M Health Science Center, focusing on youth development and mental health awareness initiatives. Before his work at the Health Science Center, he spent over a decade in K–12 public education as a teacher and coach, gaining extensive experience in mentorship, instruction, and leadership development.

While earning his Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University, David owned and operated a medical courier service for ten years, where he developed strong skills in business management, logistics, and client relations. He is also a Gulf War veteran, having served honorably in the United States Air Force.
