Ms. Lauren Welford, Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2008, joined the Finance Department in April of 2012, after spending five years in various resort management and hospitality roles across the country.
She is driven by the desire to serve others in the highest capacity. This same desire is what makes her role as Program Coordinator/Advisor of Aggies on Wall Street and the Quantitative Finance & Research Program so exciting. The opportunity to interact with students from all walks of life is the greatest challenge and also the greatest reward academia has to offer. Her success comes from helping others and it is that quality that ensures students are receiving the best possible service.
She currently serves as Program Coordinator/Advisor for Aggies on Wall Street (AOWS) and the Quantitative Finance & Research Program (QFR). She also serves as the Coordinator of Titans of Investing and the Tanner Fund. Before assuming this role Ms. Welford spent two years as Assistant to the Department Head. In this role Ms. Welford worked to merge two grassroots high impact programs, Aggies on Wall Street and the Investment Banking Program to create the Investment Banking Certificate. Among this initiative she has supported the faculty hiring efforts and departmental development initiatives. Ms. Welford works with faculty and staff members to admit new students to AOWS and QFR, modify curriculum, and coordinate scholarship processes. She also served on the Mays Business School Staff Advisory Board from 2017-2020.
Ms. Welford graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation, Park and Tourism Sciences. Ms. Welford has maximized the value of her degree first in the private sector before returning to Texas A&M to help others fulfill their career objectives. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Higher Education Administration from Texas A&M University Ms. Welford is the recipient of the 2014 Mays Business School Star Performer award.
After work she enjoys serving on the Board of Directors for the Bryan/College Station Junior League
