Empirical financial accounting research, corporate Financial Reporting, investor behavior and capital market reactions to financial reporting; disclosure and pricing of intangible assets (especially R&D); and the role of accounting information in investment.Biography
Loulwa Altrad is a first year Ph.D. student in Accounting at Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School.
Prior to beginning her doctoral studies, Loulwa worked for several years in the oil and gas industry and professional services in Kuwait, holding accounting and financial reporting roles at Kuwait Oil Company and Schlumberger, and gaining additional experience at KPMG. She has also served as a research assistant on projects related to executive power and reporting outcomes and volunteered as an Advanced Certified Tax Assistant with the IRS’s VITA program.
Drawing on this blend of industry and research experience, her work seeks to offer insights that are relevant to regulators, practitioners, and investors interested in the quality and transparency of financial reporting.
