Mayukh Majumdar is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Information and Operations Management at Mays Business School, Texas A&M University. He is genuinely passionate about analyzing complex and relevant problems in Information and Operations Management and contributing substantially to the community of scholars and practitioners. Mayukh’s research focuses on the operational issues in the service sector, specifically in the healthcare, social media, and e-commerce industries. His research works leverage both primary and secondary sources of data and combines data analytics, optimization tools, and econometric methods. He is a member of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), Production and Operations Management Society (POMS), and the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI).
Mayukh is also engaged in teaching. He taught SCMT-364 (Operations Management) in Fall 2019 with a class size of 29. His overall performance was outstanding; he received an effective instructor score of 5 and an overall evaluation score of 4.87 in Fall 2019, the highest among the Ph.D. students in the department. In Spring 2021, he developed a completely new course on Analytics for undergraduate students (SCMT 489). He also designed and developed course materials for the AI course for graduate students (SCMT 689 and assisted Bala Shetty throughout the semester. He gave lectures and lab sessions on Python, Regression, Neural Network, and Deep Learning Methods to MBA and other graduate students.
