Mengyun Zhang

Ph.D. Student


Mengyun is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Information and Operations Management at Mays Business School, Texas A&M University. She received her Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Texas Tech University and her Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Mengyun anticipates completing her Ph.D. in May 2023.

Her primary research interest focuses on sustainable operations, featuring closed-loop supply chain (CLSC) operations management, using both analytical and empirical methods. She conducts interdisciplinary research in both operations management and marketing to facilitate adaptive remanufacturing. Mengyun is a member of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), Production and Operations Management Society (POMS), and the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI).

She has taught twice a data analytics and optimization course in hybrid mode and an operations and supply chain management course. Recently, her performance as a teacher was recognized by Mays Business School with the Dean’s Outstanding Teaching by a Doctoral Student Award.
