Nancy Frost Simpson was born in Brookings, South Dakota and lived in South Dakota, Oregon, Massachusetts, Iowa, and Minnesota before landing in Texas in 1976. She holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Luther College, Decorah, Iowa, an M.S. in Mathematics from Texas A&M University, and a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction, also from TAMU. Prior to joining the faculty at Mays Business School, Dr. Simpson spent seventeen years (nine years as Director) at TAMU’s Center for Teaching Excellence. She currently teaches mathematics to first-year Mays students, Transformational Leadership Portfolio to upper level students, and co-teaches a math/Excel bootcamp for EMBA students. Dr. Simpson oversees Mays Undergraduate Special Programs, facilitates Mays faculty learning communities, serves on the editorial board of College Teaching and on staff of the Wakonse Conference on College Teaching. She has three children and five grandchildren.
