Flex Online MS Accounting

The Flex Online MS Accounting Program is a fully online Master’s of Accounting Degree offered by Texas A&M University through the Mays Business School. Students graduating from this program will earn all the benefits awarded to our in-person master’s students.  This program combines asynchronous and synchronous learning that give you the flexibility and autonomy of earning an MS Accounting degree from anywhere.

Tracks

This program offers two tracks of coursework; the Assurance Services/Information Management track and the Tax Consulting/Financial Planning track.

CPA Preparation and Examination:

Students will complete Texas’ 150-hour educational requirement for the CPA examination upon completion of their degree program. MS Accounting students also have the option to take a review course and complete most sections of the CPA exam during their final semester of coursework.

CPA Requirements

The Texas State Board of Public Accountancy (TSBPA) now requires exam candidates for the CPA exam to have a minimum of 120 credit hours of college coursework. However, to become a licensed CPA, candidates must pass the CPA exam and complete a total of 150 hours of college credit.

The James Benjamin Department of Accounting offers TSBPA-approved coursework to assist you to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam
