The Master of Financial Management (MFM) is designed to prepare students for leadership roles in finance, providing them with advanced knowledge and practical skills necessary for success in the finance industry. The Master of Financial Management offers four tracks: General Finance, Commercial Banking, Professional Program in Accounting, and Trading, Risk and Investments Program. Application is to a specific track. Switching tracks after admission is not permitted.

The MFM General Finance Track application for Fall 2027 will be available in Fall. Applications are reviewed after each round/deadline.

The MFM General Finance Program is a traditional post-graduation full-time in-person masters program requiring 36 hours of directed coursework. The MFM General Track is open to all majors at Texas A&M University, as well as those from other universities. Admission is offered in Summer and Fall terms. Spring admissions are rare.
Students starting in Fall will complete the program in 18 months, with the summer semester available for an internship or other pursuit. Fall start is open to all majors at any U.S. or international university or college.
Starting the program in Summer allows for completion of the program in as few as 12 months. Summer applicants should have relevant internship experience and/or a clear career goal. Summer admission is open to students completing a bachelors degree at a U.S. university or college. Mays Finance majors and international applicants must apply for Fall.
Applicants to the MFM General Finance Program should have a minimum overall grade point average of 3.0, minimum major GPA of 3.0, less than one-year professional work experience (none required), and a completed undergraduate degree before the program begins. No GRE or GMAT is required.
The Commercial Banking Program, Trading, Risk and Investments Program, and Professional Program in Accounting each have unique admission criteria and application terms. Program pages are linked below.

- Completed online application and non-refundable application fee
- Transcripts from all colleges/universities attended
- Unofficial copies can be uploaded at time of application.
- Resume
- Essay responses (prompts in online application)
- TOEFL or IELTS (International applicants only – unofficial, self-reported, within two years of application date)
- TOEFL iBT ≥ 5.0 with ≥ 4.0 on each section
- TOEFL Essentials ≥ 10
- IELTS score ≥ 7
- Interview, by invitation
