Peter H. Currie ’85 serves currently as the CEO of CenTree Ventures, LLC and Posse Resources, LLC, both family owned privately held companies that manage oil and gas joint venture and partnership interests in nearly 3,000 producing properties and minerals covering 300,000 acres throughout the U.S. He has been in the energy and investment industry for over 34 years.
Peter also acts as CEO of Continental Operating Company which operates oil and gas properties located in Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. He was formerly an Executive Vice President of Huddleston & Co., Inc., a petroleum and geological engineering consulting firm in Houston, Texas where Peter assisted in the completion of acquisitions, financing and public offerings in excess of $500 million for the energy business. In addition, Peter manages over $100 million in assets in numerous private investment partnerships and company retirement funds.
In 1996 he co-founded and served as a managing member of CIMA ENERGY, LTD., an oil and gas marketing company with current annual sales exceeding $4 billion. Also in 1996 he became a director of Municipal Energy Resources Corporation, a provider of natural gas to various U.S. municipalities through their unique municipal bond offerings.
In 2004, Peter was an initial investor and director of Patriot Bank in Houston, Texas that merged with Green Bank in 2015. He continued his role as a director of Green Bank until its recent merger with Veritex Bank in January 2019.
In 2009, Peter represented a group that acquired Bryan/College Station’s Traditions Club and Traditions Community. Traditions Club is home to Texas A&M’s men’s and women’s golf teams. Over the past 10 years, the Traditions Community and Atlas Biomedical Corridor has tripled the club membership and has added over 1,000 single and multi-family residences, The Stella Hotel and Parc at Traditions Senior Living Community.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management from Texas A&M University. He has served on the Dean’s Advisory Board for Mays Business School at Texas A&M University since 2008 and participates in numerous non-profit organizations. He and his wife, Lisa, reside in Houston, Texas and have three children: Mitchell, Jordan and Joshua, each graduates of Mays Business School, as well as their two current children “in-law,” and are also blessed with four grandchildren with a fifth due in September 2019.
