We are living in a historic and unsettling time. As more and more citizens are taking a stand for justice and equality, companies are asserting their voice to enact change. Inside corporations, leaders are seeking ways to create a more authentic, inclusive work environment. Diversity and inclusion in the workplace is not a compliance exercise.
The Center for Executive Development (CED) and Mays Business School at Texas A&M University are committed to providing knowledge and insight to encourage change and an improved situation relative to diversity and inclusion within our constituency’s organizations. We want to help guide our community and partners to create more authentic, open workplaces--a shift in culture prompted by changes in employee’s mindsets, behavior, and capabilities--role modeled by leadership.
To facilitate this process, we hosted a live webinar, "Make the Change: Improve the Situation" panel on August 3, 2020. This event featured several esteemed business leaders and academics with expertise in D&I, including:
- Dr. Eli Jones - Dean, Mays Business School, Texas A&M University (Moderator)
- Dr. Rick Rigsby - Motivational Speaker, Rick Rigsby Communication (Panelist)
- Ms. Myrtle Jones - Senior Vice President - Tax, Halliburton (Panelist)
- Dr. Christine Stanley - Vice President and Associate Provost for Diversity Emerita, Texas A&M University (Panelist)
Our panelists provided candid and open discussion with both practical and research-based insight for those who have the power to “make the change and improve the situation” within their organizations. We aimed to address what you can do personally as an organizational leader, as well as what you can do for your organization in the area of diversity and inclusion.
