Requirements
To be eligible for admission to the MS Accounting Program, applicants must meet Texas A&M University’s admissions requirements.
Effective July 1, 2022, NO GMAT or GRE is REQUIRED for admission to the MS Accounting Online program. If applicants would like to still submit test scores, they are more then welcome to do so in the BusinessCAS Application portal.
Pre-Enrollment Requirements: All applicants should plan to complete the following pre-enrollment courses before applying for Admission to the MS Accounting Program at Texas A&M University.

- Principles of Macroeconomics
- Principles of Microeconomics
- Introduction to Financial Accounting (Intro to Accounting I)
- Introduction to Managerial Accounting (Intro to Accounting II)
- Introduction to Business Computing (BCIS type course)
The MS Accounting Online program is designed for students with an Accounting or Finance academic background. However, exceptional candidates from other disciplines will be considered. If a student has not completed either of the accounting pre-enrollment requirements, he or she will be required to complete a boot camp course covering these principles. If you are an interested student without prior Accounting or Finance coursework, please contact the program for more information.
Work Experience: Work experience is NOT required, but relevant, professional experience will be heavily considered in our admission process.
GPA: GPA is calculated using the last sixty (60) hours of upper-division coursework (junior and senior years) and any non-professional graduate work. The GPA is based on a 4.0 scale.
Note to INTERNATIONAL Applicants:
English Language Proficiency (ELP) documentation is required of all international applicants. If your native language is not English, you must score above average on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). More information on these tests is available at www.toefl.org and www.ielts.org.
TOEFL scores should be sent directly from the testing service to Texas A&M University (code 6003). IELTS scores should be sent to Measurement and Research Services, 4239 TAMU, College Station, TX 77843-4239.
Please enter the unofficial scores in your online application. Official scores will be required upon an offer of admission to our program. Scores must be within two years of the date of exam. Refer to Mays Business School’s requirements:
