Describe your career and what led you to your current position? I completed my undergraduate studies in engineering in India. I worked as an IT analyst for three years at Nomura, a Japanese Investment bank. With this experience, I started the MS-MIS program in Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. My courses, work experience, extracurricular activities, and university resources such as the Career Management Center and Writing Center greatly helped me to find an internship and a full-time position in data analytics. At PwC, I’ll be performing data analysis for financial services clients in the banking and capital markets, insurance and asset management domain.

What was your favorite course taken while in the MS-MIS program? My favorite course was MGMT 680 – Business and Corporate Strategy with Dr. Howard. It was exciting, challenging, and very interesting. Dr. Howard arranged the lectures in a very organized manner and had quality assignments and projects.

What was the most beneficial course you took in the program?  The course that benefited me the most was ACCT 648 – Accounting Information Systems. In this class, I learned IDEA, Tableau, SAP, and SAS. Each of these is a current hot technology in the market.

What advice would you give to current students in the MS-MIS program?  There is no short cut to success! Keep working hard and smart. Decide what you want to do, choose courses accordingly, and use all of the available resources for guidance. Enjoy the program!
