Martha “Marty” Loudder is the new associate dean for undergraduate programs and learning assurance at Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School.

Loudder replaces Clair Nixon, the PricewaterhouseCoopers Accounting Excellence Professor, who has resumed activities as a full-time teaching professor after five years in the associate dean’s chair. He will continue to work closely with Mays’ Center for Executive Development.

Loudder joined Mays in 1989 and has since left an indelible mark, creating and advising several freshmen learning communities, including the Mitte Scholars Learning Community and the Freshman Business Initiative to shepherd first-year students into successful undergraduate careers at Mays. Loudder was speaker of the Faculty Senate in 2003-2004 and has been an instrumental member of many university-level efforts including the integrity-based Honor Council as chair of the Office of the Aggie Honor System’s Academic Task Force.

She was also named in May as holder of the 2005 Texas A&M Presidential Professorship for Excellence in Teaching. The new associate dean specializes in financial accounting in her teaching and research, and will lead the school’s efforts to develop curriculum and methods to assess undergraduate student development and benchmark learning outside of grading.
