Certificate Programs

Mays offers certificate programs for undergraduate students who want to explore a particular topic area in more depth. Most are open to all majors, and some are designed for specific majors who wish to specialize in a particular area in the major field of study. Certificates are noted on transcripts. Undergraduate Student Transformation Center Programs

The Nonprofit and Social Innovation Certificate offers Mays students the ability to tailor their education towards a career of service. The certificate includes a required internship with a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Not-for-profit organizations make up one of the fastest growing employment sectors in the country and are actively looking for graduates who can use their skills to immediately make an impact.

Department of Accounting

The Certificate in Energy Accounting (CEA) is a great way for students to set themselves apart and find a place in an exciting, competitive industry that provides a wide variety of opportunities – including international experiences. The CEA program is designed to give undergraduate accounting and finance majors high impact learning experiences related to the energy industry.

The Internal Audit Certificate is for accounting majors interested in serving an internal function with a broad focus on areas such as risk management, compliance, fraud investigation, and auditing for operational efficiency and effectiveness may be a good match for a career as an internal auditor.

Department of Finance

The Certificate in Capital Markets and Investments (CMI) is designed to acquaint BBA FINC and BBA Business Honors/FINC students with the fundamentals of investing in the public equity and fixed income markets, managing capital risks, asset pricing and financial modeling and complying with the SEC (Securities Exchange Commission) and FINRA (Finance Industry Regulatory Authority) regulations.

The Certificate in Commercial Banking provides coursework specifically designed to develop banking industry skills and more.

The Certificate in Corporate Finance is awarded for completing a specialized selection of courses focused on the knowledge and skills essential to working across the various finance functions that typically fall under the purview of the office of a corporation’s Chief Finance Officer (CFO).

The Certificate in Trading, Risk and Investments (TRIP) is for entering sophomore BBA BHNR/FINC or BBA FINC students.

Center For International Business Studies

The Certificate in European Union Business offers Mays students seeking a B.B.A. (any major) or B.S. in Agribusiness degree the opportunity to gain a better understanding of European business by studying its history, politics and business models.

The Certificate in International Business enables students to establish an international business and culture knowledge base that will prepare you to meet global business challenges. The certificate program is open to Mays Business School students seeking a B.B.A.

The Certificate in Latin American Business offers Mays students seeking a B.B.A. (all majors) or B.S. Agribusiness degree the opportunity to gain a better understanding of Latin American business by studying its history, politics and business models.
