Director of Alumni Engagement

Biography

Chuck Arnold (M.S. ’18) has been appointed Executive Director for Alumni Engagement at Mays Business School. In this role, he will be responsible for overall engagement strategies to keep Mays Business School graduates connected to their alma mater.

Chuck brings over 35 years of experience in alumni relations, communications, advertising, and sports marketing to this new role. Prior to joining Texas A&M, he served more than five years as both Executive Director of the University of Houston Alumni Association and Executive Director of Communications for the University’s Advancement Division. He oversaw all alumni relations programming including alumni participation in athletic events (tailgates, away travel, Bowl games and NCAA tournaments), affiliated alumni groups, Life Member program, Young Alumni, alumni awards, alumni business network with over 500+ companies, budgeting, all publications, and virtual engagement programs. Pulling on his strengths of strategy and program development, Chuck was instrumental in the development of the UH alumni attitudinal survey, a robust engagement platform that drew more than 10,000+ participating alumni. He was also a founding member and beta group participant with the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) to develop and roll-out a new national benchmarking measurement of alumni engagement.

Prior to UH, his experience includes a mix of sports marketing, media advertising, and advertising agency work. As Director of Corporate Sponsorships for both Houston Astros Baseball and Houston Aeros Hockey teams, his primary responsibility was the development and fulfillment of corporate partnerships. His advertising experience comes from his time at Houston Business Journal, Houston Chronicle, KPRC- Channel 2, SportsRadio 610, and Liberman Spanish Language Broadcasting. As an ad agency leader, his clients included Minute Maid and Waste Management where he implemented sponsorship elements for collaborations with the NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, and NASCAR.

Chuck holds a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Houston and a Masters in Sports Management from Texas A&M University. Chuck currently serves on the CASE District IV Cabinet and is a frequent presenter at CASE conferences. He has previously served on the Board of Directors for Graphic Arts Credit Union, SIRE Houston’s Therapeutic Horsemanship, and the American Advertising Federation Houston Chapter. He has been an active member and volunteer with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo since 1999 and currently serves in leadership roles with Gatekeepers and Calf Scramble Committees. Chuck hails from Houston and enjoys playing golf with his son, Colby, and traveling with his wife, Lisa.
