Dawn is a dedicated lifelong learner with a deep passion for education, research, and technology integration. She holds an undergraduate degree in elementary education from Dallas Baptist University, a master’s in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in instructional design from Tarleton State University, and a doctorate in educational leadership from Dallas Baptist University. Her dissertation explored the effects of the transition to online learning on faculty and students during COVID-19.
With 17 years of experience as an elementary education teacher, Dawn discovered her enthusiasm for technology and research while assisting colleagues with course development and classroom technology integration. She later transitioned to higher education, serving as an instructional designer and ultimately advancing to the role of learning design and development manager, where she oversaw the creation and implementation of online courses.
Throughout her career, Dawn has managed projects utilizing a variety of platforms, including Microsoft 365, Google Applications, Kaltura, and Panopto. She has provided consulting and professional development to faculty and administrators on learner experience, instructional design, and technology adoption. Dawn has delivered training and support for numerous tools such as Blackboard LMS, Turnitin, Zoom, Teams, Respondus, Harmonize, Panopto, Flip Classroom, and Class Collaborate.
Dawn is thrilled to join the Teaching and Learning Innovation team and looks forward to contributing to the enhancement of Flex Online courses.
Dawn lives in College Station with her husband Kent, to whom she has been married for forty years, and their two boxers. In her spare time, she loves sports, history, exploring, reading, music, and cherishes moments spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
