Biography

Ed White joined Mays Business School at Texas A&M University as an Executive Professor in the Department of Finance in the fall of 2014. Today Professor White teaches a variety of finance courses at the graduate and undergraduate level. He also serves as the Director for the Master of Financial Management as well as the Director for the Corporate Finance Program.  Before joining the faculty at Texas A&M University, Professor White was the Executive-in-Residence in the College of Business at Bowling Green State University (BGSU) in Ohio for two years. At BGSU he taught courses in finance to undergraduate and graduate students and served as a mentor to students in the Dallas-Hamilton Entrepreneurship Center.

Professor White was formerly a Senior Vice President and the Chief Financial Officer of Owens-Illinois, Inc. (NYSE:OI) for seven years until his retirement in 2012.  During his 38-year career with OI, White worked in a variety of management roles across finance, manufacturing and marketing.  His international experiences included senior management positions as an expatriate in Finland, Poland, France and Switzerland.  White currently serves on the Board of Directors for Ardagh Metal Packaging S.A. (NYSE:AMBP) and is Chair of the Audit Committee.  He also serves on the Board of Directors of Ardagh Group S.A. (private) and is a member of the firm’s Audit Committee.

His earliest teaching experience was at the US Army Intelligence School of the Pacific, when as an officer in the U.S. Army, White instructed military officers from allied nations in the Pacific theater. Ed received his BS in Management from Indiana University and his MBA from the University of Hawaii.
