Biography

Michael Alexander is the Assistant Dean for Graduate Programs at Mays Business School and Interim Director of the Full-Time MBA Program at Texas A&M University. Previously, he served as Director of the Professional MBA Program and Director of the MS Business Program.

Mike is also a lecturer at Mays, teaching BUAD 685, Leadership and Professional Development as well as executive education programs through the Center for Executive Development and the McFerrin Center for Entrepreneurship. He is often found wandering the halls looking for someone willing to discuss Appreciative Inquiry, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team, or reflective leadership.

Before joining Mays in March 2012, Mike spent over 20 years in the advertising industry, serving in production, operations, sales, marketing, business development, and executive leadership. From 2002 to 2012, he was a Divisional Manager of Business Development for one of the nation’s largest cable broadband companies, where he managed multiple revenue streams and led several multimillion-dollar business development initiatives.

Mike holds Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees from Abilene Christian University and an MBA from Texas A&M University through the Executive MBA Program.

Away from campus, Mike also serves his parish, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan, as a member of the Pastoral Council and as a lector, extraordinary minister of Holy Communion, and adult acolyte. He is a former president of the Board of Directors for Bryan/College Station Habitat for Humanity and Ablaze Ministries, and a former treasurer and member of the Board of Trustees for the Executive MBA Council. Mike currently serves on the BusinessCAS Advisory Board.

Mike is currently in formation for the permanent diaconate in the Diocese of Austin.

Mike is originally from Longview, Texas.

He is married to Maggie (Konderla);

has a scrappy daughter – Savannah;

a wonderfully amazing grandson – Noah Dean –

(aka “The Boy,” “NoahsBear,” “Mr. Wiggles,” and “BuddyBoy”); and

a shining precious granddaughter – Felicity Ann –

(aka “FeeFee,” “FaeFae,” “Princess,” and “LittleGirl”).
