Valeria Banda

Valeria is an undergraduate advisor at Mays Business School who works with students in all of the BBA majors.

Prior to joining Mays Business School, Valeria served as a peer mentor for first-generation college students in a learning community called IGNITE. Through this experience, she witnessed the transformative impact of personalized guidance and unwavering support on students’ academic journeys. This ignited her passion for student welfare and success.

She was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas. She is a first-generation college student who graduated from Texas A&M University, most recently with her M.Ed. in Educational Psychology in December 2023.

Valeria approaches academic advising as a collaborative and holistic process. Each student has their own unique aspirations, challenges, and strengths. Therefore, she strives to utilize a personalized approach and foster an inclusive and supportive academic environment so that students feel empowered to navigate their academic paths with confidence and clarity.
