Mays Business Education Complex

The vision for the expansion to the Mays Business Education Complex (BEC) is an environment that promotes connectivity, creativity, and collaboration. It will be a reflection of how business will be conducted in the future. Fronting on Olsen Boulevard, the new 82,500 gross square foot building will be a gateway to the Business Education Complex and include spaces for academic innovation through active learning with enhanced engagement of students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Groundbreaking Ceremony

On October 28, 2022, Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Wayne Roberts ’85 Building. The event featured a short program with Texas A&M Foundation President Tyson Voelkel ’96 as the emcee, and speeches were delivered by former Texas A&M University President M. Katherine Banks, recently retired Abrigo President and CEO Wayne Roberts ’85, Texas A&M Student Body President Case Harris ’23, and former Interim Dean Ricky Griffin of Mays.

The Grand Atrium

The grand atrium will accommodate seating for up to 250 people for formal programs and speakers. It will also be easily reconfigured to host recruiting fairs and student events.

The fast service café will have technology-enabled ordering and offer casual seating for up to 50 people in a highly engaging interior setting as well as additional seating on the adjacent patio.

Eight learning studios will be configured for maximum flexibility for students to work in teams to solve real-world business challenges, thus furthering Mays’ vision.

The Collaboration Plaza at the epicenter of the Complex provides space for meetings and teaming sessions in a refreshing outdoor setting.
